Description
Greater Moncton’s unique saga of growth and survival is vividly depicted through artefacts and photographs from the Museum’s own Heritage Collection. Come and discover Moncton’s past by visiting our permanent and in-house temporary exhibitions.
We host a variety of events and programming throughout the year. To explore what we have to offer, visit the Learn and Discover section on our website!
The Moncton Museum annually hosts three to four travelling exhibits coming from different museums across the country. These high-quality exhibits all have accompanying education material and offer various subjects and themes to explore.
Heritage Collection
The Moncton Museum hosts a collection of artefacts and photographs recounting the region’s history. Many of these objects are part of the Museum’s permanent collection. This exhibit relates Moncton’s history from the time of the Mi’kmaq to today. There are treasures to discover from the period preceding the Deportation of Acadians, the time when agriculture was Moncton’s primary economic engine, the golden shipbuilding years and the railway era.
